About After School University: After School University is dedicated to providing the highest-level academic training in math, physics, engineering and computer programming through individual tutoring, group instruction, and hands-on activities and projects. We are committed to advancing children to the top of their potential, helping struggling students catch up and accelerate in their learning, building strong study skills, and instilling academic confidence. We work with elementary, middle and high school students.

Instructor: Responsible for instructing K-12 students in the instructor’s area of expertise based on the curriculum provided by After School University in the following subjects: mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, computer programming, engineering, and language arts. Responsibilities will include: student progress documentation and reporting, close work with PhD faculty on customizing the curriculum for each student, administering quizzes and tests and assigning homework. Also responsible for student engagement and inspiration to succeed in selected subjects and gain academic confidence through personal mentoring and becoming a role model for the student. This is a great opportunity for expansion of your knowledge through hands-on instruction and creating real-life applications in an inquiry-based learning environment. Opportunities for advancement are available for the most qualified candidates, to positions such as senior instructor or department chair.

Hours: Determined based on your availability

Requirements:

1. Undergraduate & graduate students
2. GPA of 3.0 or higher
3. Specialization in area of instruction through coursework and major focus: mathematics,
4. Energetic, enthusiastic, friendly, fast learner
5. Great communication skills
6. Work well with kids of all ages
7. Innovation and ability to find solutions with minimum supervision
